How to Write an Obituary for Kelowna.com
Let Kelowna.com help you to share the memories of a loved one’s life with others.
Follow these tips when writing an obituary that you would like to have posted on Kelowna.com.
Tip 1:
Use as many words as you would like; Kelowna.com wants to ensure that you leave nothing out about the person you wish to honour.
Tip 2:
Please include the deceased person’s full name, as well as his or her place and date of birth.
Tip 3:
Think about the main events in the life of the one whom you wish to remember, and be sure to include ways in which he or she touched your life.
Tip 4:
Don’t forget to include information about schools that the individual attended, degrees and special awards that he or she received, as well as his or her vocations and hobbies.
Tip 5:
It’s also very important to acknowledge the deceased person’s survivors such as children, a spouse and parents to name a few: involve them in this special moment of recognition on Kelowna.com.
Tip 6:
An obituary is an ideal place in which to announce wake, funeral and burial dates so that people who knew the deceased may pay their last respects.
Tip 7:
If financial contributions can be made in the deceased’s name, please provide details of where these donations may be sent using which methods of payment.
Tip 8:
Finally, send it to Kelowna.com so that your loved one’s obituary is posted a few days before his or her memorial service. Obituaries generally take 1-2 business days to be published from the time they are received. Don’t forget to attach up to three photos to be included.
Send your obituary to obits@kelowna.com.
