Inniskillin Okanagan Vineyards winery was originally established in 1994 by winemaker Donald Ziraldo. The already successful Inniskillin Wines in Ontario sought a British Columbia expansion and so it purchased an existing winery, formerly named Okanagan Vineyards. Inniskillin Okanagan is located on the western slope of BC's Okanagan Valley, north of Lake Osoyoos, and in the heart of the Golden Mile Bench. The winery's signature vineyard, Dark Horse Vineyard, is planted with exceptional quality grapes that are used in red and white wine production. The vineyard was planted in 1990 by Sandor Mayer who has been with Inniskillin Okanagan since it's inception: playing important multiple roles as Inniskillin Okanagan's winemaker, viticulturist and General Manager. One may visit Inniskillin's cozy wine boutique and be welcomed by friendly staff who are happy to share a wealth of wine knowledge. Inniskillin Okanagan Vineyards is known globally as the premier producer of Icewine, and wine lovers may visit to sample Icewine, uncover it's history and learn the process of making wine from Winter grapes. Inniskillin's single vineyard wines showcase the unique terroir of the Dark Horse Estate Vineyard; our unique red and white 'Discovery Series' of innovative wines such as Malbec and Sangiovese should not be missed. Exclusive winery only wines and limited releases are waiting for every wine lover who visits. Inniskillin Okanagan Vineyards is open year-round, but visitors may book an 'Icewine Discovery Tour' from May to October.
