Young offenders, perfect. They can’t be identified no that might interfere with their right to move on in the community without stigma. I sure hope the perps are white because any attempt to charge them as adults or even face maximum YOA sentencing will surely be racialized. Regardless of that they will exercise their many rights and we will have our right to be gang raped and vote for someone with the guts to tackle tough issues. I won’t hold my breath on that though.

If these “young offenders” feel they’re old enough to rape and rob a women then they are old enough to get their names and pictures published in the papers and on the news. The young offenders get away with so much now a days that it makes me wonder if it really helps them at all being put away. Why protect them from the public? So they can get out lead a normal life no one knowing what they did then they possibly do it again? People have the right to know what goes on around their own home and who is doing it. This isn’t a small crime these boys commited this is a serious crime. They didn’t go and steal a couple things out of a store they robbed this women of many things, her self esteem, her pride, her ability to feel safe in her own home or just feeling safe in general. These are things she wont get back for a very long time if she can ever really get them back. And the govenorment wants to protect these guys identity? How does that make sense? Laws need to change.
