A fireball spotted in the sky above Nova Scotia's South Shore that triggered fears of a plane crash was probably just a meteor, officials say.
A paramedic driving near Italy Cross, just outside Bridgewater, at about 6:30 p.m. Thursday reported seeing a “huge ball of fire in the sky” over Highway 103.
RCMP and search-and-rescue crews rushed to the area, but found nothing.
The Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre in Halifax confirmed no planes were down.
