Police say a homicide in southeast Edmonton early Saturday morning involved a sworn member of the RCMP.

Edmonton police released few details in a release sent out Saturday morning, but did say the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team, a police oversight agency, has been assigned to investigate.

Response team executive director Clifton Purvis is expected to release more details at a press conference at the home in Millwoods on Saturday afternoon.

The home, at Jefferson Road and Jillings Crescent, was blocked off with police tape Saturday morning. Several police officers were on scene.
