Submitted The United Way of the Central & South Okanagan/Similkameen is thrilled to announce the inaugural Plane Pull Challenge hosted by Kelowna Flightcraft will be held on Friday, April 23rd.

This fun event will give teams of 12 the opportunity to pull a Convair- stretch plane 20 feet for the chance to win prizes and of course bragging rights.

In addition to the plane pull, Kelowna Flightcraft will also be hosting a barbecue and their very own live band will be entertaining the participants and spectators.

“We’re thrilled at the excitement this event is creating with local businesses and organizations stepping up to fly the friendly skies for United Way” says Harry Grossmith, United Way CEO. “Teams are challenging each other to pull a plane and have some fun while making a difference in their community.”

This year’s Finish Line Sponsor is MacKay LLP Chartered Accountants. “Our office is a big supporter of the United Way, and this looked like a fun new way to be involved,” says Scott King, Manager Assurance and Client Services for MacKay. “Businesses need to do more of these kind of things, not only to support the community they earn their living in, but also to engage their people in an ongoing commitment to helping others.”

There is still room available for teams to register for this event. There will be prizes for the fastest pulls as well as team spirit awards. Some of the team prizes include; gift certificates from RBC, accommodation from Prestige Inns, a VIP tasting at Quail’s Gate & a box for a night at Prospera.
