West Kelowna’s Schultz helps Badgers advance to Frozen Four

Former Westside Warriors player Justin Schultz and his Wisconsin Badgers hockey team will make their first appearance at the Frozen Four since winning the national title in 2006 after beating St. Cloud 5-3.

The West Kelowna native will now lead Wisconsin to the semifinal round of the 2010 Frozen Four in Detroit on April 8. The Badgers will make their 11th Frozen Four appearance in program history and will now face RIT in the semifinal round in Detroit. The Badgers will make their 11th Frozen Four appearance in program history.

John Mitchell’s two-goal effort led the way against St. Cloud,  while senior Blake Geoffrion had a goal and two assists in the sixth meeting between UW and St. Cloud this season.

The remaining two Frozen Four participants will be determined on Sunday as Yale and Boston College play at 4:30 p.m. and Miami and Michigan face off at 7 p.m.
