A local Information Communications Technology company has earned some national accolades, proving once again you don’t have to be based out of a major urban hub to get heavy-weight attention.

QHR Technologies Inc. is based in Kelowna and considered a leader in Canadian Electronic Medical Records and Enterprise Management Software.

While it may not be the type of business endeavour locals are familiar with, industry experts have taken note and it recently got a nod in the  2010 Edition of the Branham300 — a publication widely considered to be a leading source of intelligence on Canada’s ICT industry— much to the pleasure of company executives.

“2009 was an impressive year for QHR and our various rankings on the Branham300 has confirmed that,” said Al Hildebrandt, President and CEO of QHR.

“We are proud of the accomplishments that we have made over the last year and pleased that Branham300 has recognized this.”
Specifically, the 2010 edition of the Branham300 gave QHR a nod in four categories:

  • Top 250 Canadian ICT Companies –  No. 183 (up from  No. 239)
  • Top 5 Pure-play Healthcare IT Companies – 4th
  • Top 20 Movers and Shakers – 4th
  • Top 10 Growth Companies – 6th

The recognition is especially relevant considering it’s coming at the tail end of one of the toughest economic periods in recent history.

“Since making its first appearance on the Branham300 seven years ago, QHR Technologies has consistently grown to become one of Canada’s leading Healthcare ICT companies”, said Wayne Gudbranson, president and CEO of Branham Group.

“What’s even more impressive is the fact that in a year that many others struggled, QHR Technologies leveraged its healthy financial position to expand inorganically while also adding to its existing customer base, leading to significant year-over-year growth.”
