Some tenants of a Sutton Court apartment are going to get a surprise when they return to their suite. Fire broke out in the balcony of the North Glenmore complex about 6:45 p.m. According to a witness, who lived across the hall from the damaged unit, the tenants were not home, but had been smoking on the balcony about an hour earlier.

However, a Kelowna Fire Department spokesman said no cause had been determined. Three KFD units, plus B.C. Ambulance and Kelowna bylaw officers responded to the fire.
