The Kelowna Rockets will look to win their final game away from Prospera Place when they travel to the Lower Mainland to face the Vancouver Giants tonight in WHL action.

The Rockets (33-31-2-4) hope to regain their winning touch after falling to the Spokane Chiefs 5-2 on Tuesday night. Prior to the loss, Kelowna had rallied off three consecutive wins, including a 3-0 performance against the Giants last Saturday night in Kelowna.

Currently the Rockets sit in sixth place in the Western Conference and enjoy two-point lead over seventh and eighth place Kamloops and Chilliwack and a win tonight would give the team a modest 15 regulation wins while on the road. A victory would also give the Rockets only second win in seven tries when playing away from home.

Meanwhile, the Giants (40-24-2-3) enter tonight’s game following a 6-0 victory over Chilliwack. The comprehensive win snapped a Giants four-game losing streak while ending a 10-game road trip and marks the first time Vancouver will play in front of their home fans since Jan. 3. The Giants have locked up the second spot in the Western Conference

Tonight also marks the final regular season meeting between the two teams. In seven games this season, the Giants lead the head-to-head series 4-3 and a win tonight would be the Giants tenth win over the Rockets in the last two years.

Friday’s contest between the Giants and Rockets can be seen live throughout western Canada on Shaw, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
