The power company is warning Hall Road residents that they will be without power for a couple of hours this afternoon as it does an emergency replacement on a power pole.
FortisBC says the power will be off for some 320 customers in the area after it was discovered this morning that someone had tried burning down a pole at 2568 KLO Road.
The power there will be out from 12:30 p.m. to approximately 2:30 p.m. says spokesperson Marnie Douglas.
“Someone put charcoal briquets around the base of the pole and tried to burn it down,” she says. “They found it smouldering this morning… it’s asafety hazard so we have to take it down and replace it.”
Areas affected include¬†Hall Road, Packers Road, O’Reilly Road and some of the smaller cul-de-sacs in the area.
