The Vancouver Canucks have made three minor moves that will improve their depth during Wednesday’s NHL Trade Deadline Day.

Vancouver acquired forward Yan Stastny, who was immediately assigned the Manitoba Moose of the AHL, from the St. Louis Blues for prospect Pierre-Cedric Labrie.

In 49 games this season with the AHL’s Peoria Rivermen, the 27-year-old Stasny has 27 points ad 51 penalty minutes. Stasny has played 91 NHL games with St. Louis, Boston and Edmonton, while Labrie, 23, had five goals and one assist in 45 appearances for the Moose this year.

The Canucks then moved veteran defenceman Mathieu Schneider to the Phoenix Coyotes for blueliner Sean Zimmerman and a 2010 conditional sixth-round draft pick.

Vancouver also acquired Andrew Alberts from the Hurricanes for a third-round pick.
