The Canadian Forces are inviting Rockets’ fans to keep up their fight against hunger.  On March 3 bring non-perishable food items to the Rockets versus Spokane Chiefs game where unit members will be outside Gate 1 collecting donations.

“This is our final Rockets food drive this season,” said Sgt. Patrick Petersen.  “We have been amazed by the generosity; so far fans have donated over 500 lbs. at the previous two games.”

The Canadian Forces have seen both good and bad times during their 100 years of service in the Central Okanagan.  “We are located downtown, everyday we witness the effects of hunger and poverty on our city, and we are in a position to do something constructive.”

“The BC Dragoons have been a big help to us this past winter,” said Rob Weller, operations manager for the Kelowna Food Bank.   “They’ve mobilized Rocket fans to battle hunger in our community.  It has been a real team effort.”

Petersen is inviting fans to bring non-perishable food items and to look for the unit’s display inside Prospera Place showcasing some of the British Columbia Dragoon history and Okanagan Military Museum information.
