United States upsets Canada in men’s hockey

SIdney Crosby scored late in the third period for Canada, but it wasn't enough as the host nation fell 5-3 to the United States.

America’s Ryan Miller made 42 saves to lead his team to a 5-3 upset win over Canada in their final Olympic preliminary round game Sunday night.

Miller outplayed Canada’s Martin Brodeur and Brian Rafalski led the way offensively with two goals and an assist as the United States clinched the top stop in Group A.

Chris Drury and Ryan Kesler had the other goals for the U.S. while Eric Staal, Dany Heatley and Sidney Crosby scored for Canada.

The Blackhawks’ Jonathan Toews had two assists and Duncan Keith and Brent Seabrook each added one.

Canada will now play Germany in a qualification game Tuesday to see who will face Russia in a quarterfinal matchup.
