The Kelowna Right to Life Society, an anti-abortion group headed by new president Marlon Bartram, have joined forces with other like-minded groups across North America taking part in the 40 Days For Life Campaign.

It began earlier this week and will see local volunteers maintaining what the group calls a “prayer presence” in front of the Kelowna General Hospital for some seven hours each day for 40 consecutive days in hopes of bringing attention to their cause.

The hospital performs abortions and has done so for many years while anti-abortion activists have maintained a weekly presence with signs in front of the facility.

A press release from the Kelowna Right to Life Society states that Kelowna is one of 165 communities in the Unites States and Canada taking part in the current campaign.

You guys will better benefit the community if you volunteer you time inside the hospital then rally for a lost cause outside the hospital.

Great work, and an important concept — abortion being about human rights. Keep it up. Our prayers are with you. As for this being about a “lost” cause — no, it is about several million lost causes; and those “causes” being the unborn, who had NO say in their out come. Many of the pro choice people should think about the fact that they can express their wishes — those aborted children had no chance to express themselves.

Your job is more important where it is taking place — keep it up.

I’m sorry, but the fight for life is not a lost cause. It is, in fact, a vibrant and growing cause. If I walked into an art gallery and chose to vandalize or deface a Norman Rockwell painting, it would be frowned upon because I’d be destroying another man’s creation. God formed and created every single human being, but society desperately wants to shut us Christians up and turn a blind eye to destroying HIS creation. “If you don’t stand up for something, you’ll fall for anything”.

My hat is off to you in Kelowna for taking up the cause of the unborn in this important way! You are making a powerful public statement and we support you 100%. The right to life is the most important human right for without it no other rights matter. The next to it is freedom of speech (which you are exercising on behalf of the unborn) for without that we cannot defend any other human rights. Thank you and God bless you.
