A bizarre bit of dangerous driving Sunday morning caused $25,000 in damage to five cars and ended when the man behind the wheel parked his truck in front of the Kelowna RCMP detachment.

Cops suspect Andrew Peel, 42, was drunk when he began ramming cars parked at the downtown senior’s centre on Water Street. Around 11 a.m., witnesses heard screeching tires and saw the older-model pickup truck slam into another truck then back up into a car. The offending truck then apparently sped towards two people, only veering away at the last second, before clipping three more vehicles on the way out of the parking lot.

Once the suspect parked out front of the cop shop, a witness advised police what happened and Peel was taken into custody. He’s charged with impaired driving, refusing to provide a breath sample and dangerous driving. Peel is known to police.
