WHL referee Graham Skilliter, who was involved in a nasty spill during overtime in Kelowna’s 5-4 shootout win over the Edmonton Oil Kings, was released from hospital today.

Skilliter is currently on his way back to his home in Saskatoon where he will rest until he has fully recovered from a concussion he suffered during the overtime period in Wednesday night’s game.

Skilliter was involved in a horrific accident where the referee appeared to slam his head on the ice.

Medical staff attended to Skilliter for over 10 minutes before he was forced to leave on a stretcher. Skilliter was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Kelowna, where he was kept overnight. He suffered a concussion but is otherwise all right.
