A TV spot featuring the severed limb of an aborted child will not see the light of day after all. The ad entitled, “Everyone Against Abortion, Please Raise Your Hand” raised the ire of pro-abortion forces even before it aired a single time. The TV station, Global Okanagan (formerly CHBC), reported that they had received “12 to 18” complaints demanding that they not air the ad. It is unclear whether those complainants had even seen the ad. It is clear, however, that the demands of 12 to 18 abortion activists override the demands of 200+ pro lifers who are paying for the ad, and thousands more that want the ad seen.
“So a handful of abortion activists have persuaded a major media outlet to once again censor the truth of what is the most important social, moral and human rights issue of our time,” says Marlon Bartram, Executive Director of Kelowna Right to Life, the group responsible for the ad. Listen, the bottom line here is that this outlet is compromising the fundamental purpose of media: to seek out the truth and present it to the rest of society in a fair and thorough manner. It appears Global TV is siding with the abortion activists on this one.”
He goes to say that, “700 living, unborn, human children are violently killed by abortion every year in our community alone, and over 100,000 across Canada. Its time the media does its due diligence, stop censoring the truth, and expose the horror of abortion for what it truly is.”
In response, KRTL has started an initiative called “Let the Ad Run!” The title is taken from a Calgary Herald editorial written by radio personality Rob Breakenridge. In that article, Breakenridge wrote, “Demanding or hoping for censorship might seem like an easy solution, but it is a cop-out and probably counterproductive in the long run. Let the ad run. Let the debate exist. Freedom of expression demands no less.”
A Facebook page will be set up to help get the word out. People on both sides of the issue are encouraged to contact Global TV in Toronto asking, no demanding, that Global “Let the Ad Run!”

Can’t believe that such a beautiful ad can be pulled and in this day and age. What are the dozen and a half opposers afraid of? People can decide for themselves whether they like it or not, just like every other ad in the market place. Please run the ad.

Let the ad be run .Most people who go for a abortion -have no idea that they are actually killing a living being .I think people should actually see what is being aborted ,then maybe we’ll see women change their minds .The Truth about abortion needs to be told .Sometimes you have to get graphic in order for it to sink in.Plus ,why would a hand full of pro abortionists be allowed to influence our society .

If your afraid of offending people then drop the adds that use sex to sell everything from bluejeans to toothpaste! The pro life add is indead beautifully and tastefully done, it is an important message and we NEED for women to see this, to make their own choices based on fact. If we need to be a bit graphic then so be it (run a “this is not the opinion of this station” label if you are afraid of a few pro abortionists) I think it is a beautiful add with a heartbreaking message to all….save life! Those who don’t like it ….don’t watch for the thirty seconds it takes. RUN THE ADD!!!!!

COWARDS is all I can say! They are not reporting news they are are nothing more than a local gossip channel. That is pretty self evident with the “Tiger Tails”

Too graphic? Then 18 of us should be able to complain and stop the airing of the series “24,” because just last week we saw a woman saw off a man’s thumb! Too controversial? Then a dozen and a half of us should be able to remove ads promoting sex call lines or any of the many services or products we may find disturbing. Get real! Never happen! This is censorship, clear & simple.
