Although the new cast of Dancing With The Stars has yet to be announced, we have a report today that Pamela Anderson will be competing in the dance competition when the new season begins Monday, March 22nd.

According to website RadarOnline.com, the deal is done.

“Pam is thrilled and so is the show,” the source claims. “She really wanted to do the show and the show thought it was a great idea.”

Assuming this is true, it’s likely a calculated move by the producers to capture a bigger piece of the male demographic. Perhaps if this were ten years ago, it may have paid off. But given the current state of her looks, the type of male demo that will tune in to see Pam shaking her thangs will be… well… Tiger Woods, Bill Clinton and maybe Tommy Lee if he’s feeling nostalgic.

Brittany Murphy’s death ruled accidental

Today, TMZ is reporting that Brittany Murphy’s cause of death has been determined – an accidental death caused by “community acquired pneumonia,” iron deficiency anemia, and multiple drug intoxication.

The L.A. County Coroner concludes on the subject of “How injury occurred” — “Drug intake.”

The website also states that Murphy’s death was “entirely preventable.” Sad.

DVD screener for Avatar leaked to the Internet. Does it really matter?

Today as I scoured my myriad sources for information, I came across a torrent site that boasted a DVD quality screener for Avatar. I did a bit of research and it appears that the quality of the pirated movie is not at all in question. Of course, you’re not going to get it in 3D.

But honestly, does the studio even care that a good quality pirated version is out there? Sure, they care to some extent because no studio wants their movies owned for free. However, Avatar has made so much money and anyone who really wants the experience will see it in 3D.

So far this morning Celebrity Sizzle is the only news source reporting on this, and I’m curious to see if more news comes from this in the media.

What do you think? Even if you believe that piracy is a big deal, is there an exception for Avatar – especially at this point in its theatrical run?

Watchmen 2? Not gonna happen

This week there has been a lot of Internet buzz about the possibility of a sequel to the moderately successful superhero film Watchmen. The graphic novel was huge, but the original film failed to live up to the extreme hype.

Hoping they’ll get it right with a sequel? Sorry, those rumours about either a sequel or prequel are strictly talk. According to Hollywood insider Nikki Finke, a well-placed source tells her, “There is no truth to anything related to a movie sequel. Not a chance by a longshot. With regards to the comics, well, I guess anything is possible. I’ll keep my opinion to myself as to whether it’s a smart idea to do so.”

Men at Work apparently stole the tune for Down Under. Umm, it’s 2010.

Don’t you just love hearing about bizarre lawsuits? Have I got a juicy one for you. Remember that Men at Work song, Down Under? Of course you do. “I come from a land Down Under…” Sorry, you’ve probably got it stuck in your head now.

Anyway, get this: a new court ruling in Australia accuses Men at Work of ripping off the melody in their 80s hit from the classic campfire song, “Kookaburra”.

An Australian judge just ruled that the band owes a bloomin’ onion size of royalties to the music company who owns the rights to the 70-year-old song.

I tried to ask the band’s lead singer, Colin Hay, about the ruling, but he just smiled and gave me a vegemite sandwich.

Barney Stinson to take part in the Super Bowl

Did you see How I Met Your Mother on Monday where Barney attempted to go for the “Perfect Week”, sleeping with a different woman from Monday to Sunday? CBS sports anchor Jim Nantz was a guest on the show, and now it appears that Barney Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris) is going to return the favor sometime during the Super Bowl broadcast.

Wonder what CBS has up its suited-up sleeve? Any guesses? This may be legen—… yeah, you know the rest.

Perez Hilton has a beef with Vanessa Hudgens

You’ve gotta give Perez Hilton props for working so hard at his blog. He didn’t get to where he is now without a lot of hard work, and the man knows how to work the publicity thing.

Unfortunately, not much can be said about the guy’s classiness. Today, for instance, Perez wasn’t too kind on teen star Vanessa Hudgens.

Last night Hudgens and boyfriend Zac Efron attended the Lakers game, and the pair was seen hugging, smooching and handholding throughout the evening. So how does Perez refer to Vanessa? He calls her Zac’s fug beard/girlfriend Vadge Hudgens.

Then he asks, “What does he see in that thing?!”

Thing? C’mon dude, even for you, that’s mighty low. The right thing to do would have been to merely shame them for their hand-intercourse (below).

Tik Tok… those 15 minutes are almost up, Ke$ha

Pop star Ke$ha, who happens to have the #1 song with her annoying song Tik Tok, was working the red carpet recently when a journalist failed to recognize her, and dissed her for 68-year old Beach Boy Al Jardine.

Classic!

Meet Samantha’s (from Sex and the City) new boy toy

Ladies, this one’s for you. While I’ve been featuring bikini-clad women for the guys lately, it’s only fair to even things up with some man candy.

Behold, Samantha’s new plaything in the new Sex and the City sequel.
