A third man has now accepted a plea deal and admitted some liability for his part in the killing of Jody Elliot more than four years ago.

Although originally charged with first-degree murder, Ramoncito Veijon has instead pleaded guilty to manslaughter. The plea was registered this morning in B.C. Supreme Court in Kelowna. A sentencing hearing is set for this Thursday.

In October 2009, Robert Juker took a similar plea deal and received an 8.5-year sentence.

Meanwhile, Grant Fralic pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in a Vancouver court in November 2008, and is now serving a life sentence with no chance of parole for 10 years.

A fourth co-accused, Daniel Mader, is out on bail on a $400,000 surety and is set to go to trial in March.

Circumstances of the cases against each man are covered by partial publication bans put in place to avoid tainting potential jurors.

Viejon has been in custody since his arrest on Nov. 3, 2005, the same day cops learned Elliot had been killed and dismembered in a wooded area on Bald Range Road outside West Kelowna.

Court heard at Juker’s sentencing that Elliot, 26, was a low-level drug dealer with a reputation for ripping off his competitors.

    To Joe Fries:

I found it very rude and disrespectful of you to comment “Elliot, 26, was a low-level drug dealer”, somebody gets brutally murdered and their body parts cut off and left in the mountain to die and you have to mention that he was a drug dealer? What kind of person does that? Jody was like a brother to me and yes he did a lot of crazy not so good stuff when he was caught up in that scene, but most of the people in the drug scene are doing the same things that he did, Jody was actually a beautiful person and definitely wasn’t “low-level” anything. ~RIP JODY~LOVE U~
