I think this is such an incredible thing that these people are doing. There needs to be more people out there doing things like this, especially to make sure that the support for these people doesn't just end when the dust settles.
Trevor
Have you ever been to Haiti or the Dominican Republic? I have several times before the earthquake hit. A lot of what I saw was horrible even then. The extreme poverty and despair was heart breaking. I can't even begin to imagine the horror and devastation that exists there now.
As far as I'm concerned, there can not be too much help for these people. This group of amazing people were in fact invited down and the medical supplies and teams of doctors, nurses and volunteers are desperately needed. There are areas in Haiti that rescuers and aid have yet to be able to get to. What have you done to help?

Gary Your efforts in Haiti are appreciated and it is people like you that can make a difference in the world.

In response to Trevor's comment. The team that Gary is with was invited and you should really know the facts before you crash the efforts of those who are trying to make a difference. They are helping the injured people of Haiti and saving lives. I ask you what did you do today to make a difference????

I applaud these people who are volunteering their time and all the other volunteers that are sharing their talents and risking their lives in Haiti

Good to know he is going over there to help rebuild which is what Hati needs. Instead of fast track adoptions that are being done by canada and the U.S. when the Hati is in a crisis. Maybe Gary can also bring to light these issues by talking to Unicef that is very concerned with what is happening over there. http://www.worldbulletin.net/news_detail.php?id=52935

Hate to say it but unless you are invited don't go. This is from the UN in Haiti: "From volunteer medical teams who show up uninvited, to stateside donors who ship boxes of unusable household goods, misdirected compassion can actually tax scarce resources, costing time, money, energy — and lives, experts say."
They say the best help is already there - great intentions but . . . .
