Attach in Black is touring Western Canada this month and will be hitting the road solo past Calgary. They are opening for Julie Dorion through the prairies before they head to the west coast.  They will hit the stage at Habitat on Friday, January 22, 2010. Attack in Black has super catchy tunes with quirky names like Leave your death in a Flowerbed that keep people humming all afternoon. This band shares a record label, Dine Alone Records, with some serious talent and entertainers such as City and Colour, Bedouin Soundclash, Arkells, and Moneen (the last two have recently rocked and swooned the stage at Habitat to sold out crowds).

Hailing from Welland, Ontario, Attack in Black quickly won over audiences and critics with their debut release Marriage, a collection of stunning folk-infused songs that merge the soul of old school rock ‘n’ roll with the body of modern day punk rock. Although Attack in Black’s sound may at first closely resemble popular forms of punk rock, it is not fitting to simply categorize the quartet as a “punk rock” band. Various artists and authors that many people would not relate with the genre have influenced the band: from Bruce Springsteen and Neil Young, to Refused and Ramones, to Henry Miller and Charles Bukowski. With infectious melodies and unique vocals, their lyrics are thought provoking and insightful. Attack in Black’s swaggering, spirited live set can convert even the most jaded concert-goer.
