The Kelowna Women In Business will be holding their sixth annual Her Story series at the Coast Capri Hotel, Jan. 13.
The event, which features local women who have surpassed challenges and found success, will offer an inspiring way to start the new year.
Here is a little information on this year’s speakers:
Klaudia Ceglarz
Born in Poland, Klaudia immigrated to Canada with her parents when she was eight years old. Like any immigrant, she encountered numerous obstacles in her journey to start a new life in Canada. With hard work and determination, she persevered and went on to become a television news anchor.
Klaudia’s education includes a double major in French and German from the University of Victoria. She also attended the British Columbia Institute of Technology receiving a diploma in Broadcast Journalism. Her first break in broadcasting came at Victoria’s AM 900 RADIO in 1998. A year and half later Klaudia made the leap into television and headed north to work at NTV in Dawson Creek. From there it was back to her hometown of Victoria where she spent three years reporting and anchoring at CHUM Television. After that, Klaudia spent a year at CFJC Television in Kamloops reporting and anchoring the 11pm news. She was thrilled to relocate to the Okanagan in December 2005 to join the award winning CHBC Television Team.
Klaudia enjoys travelling having explored Europe extensively. Her favourite hot destination is Hawaii.. For the past several years, she has enjoyed various volunteer work particularly with the elderly as well as teaching children the importance of literacy. Her hobbies include reading, sipping red wine (local of course), skiing, boating and spending time with her parents in Victoria.
