This Saturday Santa pays a visit to the Kelowna Fire Museum and Education Centre beside the historic Water Street Fire Hall. You and your family can capture the moment by having a photo taken with Santa on an antique 1928 Graham Ladder Truck.

Photos will be taken by Valley Vines Photography outside the fire museum, 1630 Water Street, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Individual photos cost $5 while family photos with Santa cost $10 and you have choice of having a print copy of your photo or a digital version. Proceeds from all photos taken will be donated to the Kelowna Fire Museum and Education Centre.

There will also be free hot chocolate for all visitors and while you stop by you can learn more about the fire museum, education centre and how you can help bring this facility to reality.

The Museum is located at 1630 Water Street and will house displays of fire equipment and memorabilia highlighting the more than a century of service to the citizens of Kelowna. Also planned is an education centre to help children across the Central Okanagan learn about making safe choices, especially when it comes to fire.

You can learn more about the plans for the museum by visiting its website: www.firemuseum.ca. It also provides visitors with important information about how they can help the Friends of the Fire Museum Society either by volunteering or through financial donations. All funds-raised are tax deductible and will go toward construction and operation of fire museum and education centre. For detailed information on various donation programs please visit www.firemuseum.ca or emailĀ  donate@firemuseum.ca.

The Kelowna Fire Museum and Education Centre is operated by The Friends of the Kelowna Fire Museum Society. It is comprised of current and retired volunteer and career firefighters, as well as interested members of the public. The education centre will focus on the prevention of unintentional childhood injuries. Not only will the Kelowna Fire Museum and Education Centre be an exciting tourist destination, it will also become a unique community resource for daycares, schools, families and the public at large.
