Best delayed reaction

The Canucks were trailing 2-1 midway through the second period when Michael Samuelsson threw the puck to Ryan Kesler, who redirected it. Evgeni Nabokov saw it at the last second and darted out a toe.

Best block

Trailing 2-1 and killing an Alex Burrows hooking penalty with five minutes to go in the third period, Ryan Johnson threw himself in front of a Rob Blake blast that caught him on the side of the knee. It allowed the Canucks to clear the puck and Johnson to hobble off.

Best hosts

Last week it was Chicago minor-league call-up Bryan Bickell scoring his first NHL goal against the Canucks. Last night it was Frazer McClaren of the Sharks. Manny Malhotra (his fifth of the season) and Jamie McGinn (fourth) were also able to pad their stats.

Best selfishness

Tanner Glass said there was no way he was going to decline the goal when officials took one away from Kyle Wellwood and gave it to Glass two games ago. So no wonder Wellwood thought 'shoot' all the way on a 2-on-1 with Glass Sunday night to open the scoring.
