RCMP press release
On Nov. 28 at 9:45 a.m. a woman had just finished fueling her Hyundai SUV at the Extra Foods Gas Bar in West Kelowna. She started up her vehicle and then went inside the Gas Bar to buy something.
When she came back out, her vehicle was gone. Police responded and, just before 10:30 a.m. the vehicle was spotted driving on Shannon Lake Road.
Police said it was a unique looking vehicle and was reported by several members of the public who police think may have had police scanners.
As police moved to intercept, the vehicle fled but was located empty a short time later on Shannon Lake Road, near Bartley Road.
With help from the public, police located two of the three men that were seen inside the vehicle. A third man was also found and arrested after a brief foot chase. All were taken into custody. The third man, a 19-year-old West Kelowna resident, admitted to taking the SUV and picking up the other two men, aged 21 and 29, who were released without charges.
The 19-year-old will be facing charges of theft over $5,000 and possession of stolen property. He was released on conditions with a future court date. He is known to police for Criminal Code offenses.
Police remind all drivers that with the cold weather, these risks are inherent with leaving a vehicle running.

Why? Why? Why?
“He was released on conditions with a future court date. He is known to police for Criminal Code offences.”
He and his friends will be right back at it as soon as he was released. At least give them house arrest with electronic monitoring until the court date, them send him to prison….Oh.. and kick her ass as well!

I sometimes wonder about people, they are warned not to
leave thing in their car while Christmas shopping, lock
vehicles when not in them, don’t leave your car running
don’t leave the kids in the car while you go into a store
and so on. So is it people are not listening or is it they
don’t hear what’s being said. I think the penalty should be given out to the thieves and the person who didn’t
properly secure their car. First a fine and no insurance
if they didn’t secure it properly. Maybe just maybe people
would start listening

Leave the keys in you’re car & with the engine running, then go into the store.
Why not just hang a sign on the car stating “Steal Me.”
Brain Dead…..
