Detroit Lions coach Jim Schwartz isn't second-guessing his decision to start Matthew Stafford. "No second thoughts at all," Schwartz said yesterday, a day after his rookie quarterback threw four interceptions in a 34-12 loss to Green Bay. "Him throwing the interceptions had nothing to do with his shoulder." Stafford separated his left, non-throwing shoulder at the end of a Nov. 22 game against Cleveland . Meanwhile, tight end Brandon Pettigrew, whose left knee was injured early in Thursday's game, will need season-ending surgery.

Still new to the job, Buffalo Bills interim head coach Perry Fewell learned a valuable lesson after being caught by surprise and forced to practice in a chilling rain this week. "Never listen to your local meteorologist," Fewell said with a hearty laugh, though he refused to alter his plans. Taking advantage of the meteorological miscue, Fewell kept his players outdoors as an opportunity to acclimate them in preparation to face the warm-weather Dolphins tomorrow in Buffalo's first home game in four weeks. "I wanted to get their attention from a detail standpoint, and so the weather was not a distraction," Fewell said.

Kurt Warner went through another full practice yesterday, but the Arizona quarterback was listed as questionable for tomorrow's game at Tennessee. Warner practiced all week after sustaining a concussion in last Sunday's 21-13 victory at St. Louis. He passed all the required neurological tests on Tuesday. Warner and Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt have said they plan to be cautious as they deal with the head injury. In addition to the concussion, Warner has had tightness in his neck.

Colts quarterback Peyton Manning has returned to full practice from an injury to his backside and is probable for tomorrow's AFC South game at Houston. Manning had seen limited work Wednesday and Thursday before participating in the full workout on yesterday.
