More than 290 athletes raging in age from six to 17 took part in the Kelowna Aqua Jets/Liquid Lightning Swim Club short-course meet held over the weekend at the new H20 Centre in Kelowna.
On Saturday younger swimmers took part in the Fall Classic Jamboree, while older athletes took part in the KAJ/LLSC Fall Classic on Sunday
The two local clubs were well represented, along with swimmers from Vernon, Penticton and Summerland as they competed in various events over several different lengths in the 25-metre pool. Some were attempting to qualify for the provincial short-course championships to be held Mar. 7-9, 2010 in Victoria and for the age group nationals in Saskatoon.
The next big competition swimming event will be held Jan. 22-23, 2010 at the H20 centre, along with an international three-day meet in May.
