Some major drama is about to go down next month on Wisteria Lane (photo: ABC promotional)
I don’t watch Desperate Housewives, but there are a lot of readers who do so I though I’d share this with you. Did you know that next month the show is going to feature a huge plane crash? Initially, showrunner Marc Cherry decided that he wasn’t going to kill off any characters.
However, according to Entertainment Weekly’s Michael Ausiello, the show’s head honcho has changed his mind. He reports that a mole inside the show has let it out of the bag that it’s going to be a fan favorite that meets an untimely death on Wisteria Lane.
Who can it be? EW’s report delves deeper into the possibilities.
Celebrity Apprentice cast leaked
NBC hasn’t officially unveiled the cast for Donald Trump’s upcoming season of Celebrity Apprentice, but filming has already begun for the show. The New York Post caught the eleven “celebrities” as they were filming the first day of footage in NYC’s meatpacking district.
To give you an idea of the caliber of celebrity we’re dealing with here, I’ll tell you that the two biggest names on the list are proven reality stars Sharon Osbourne (America’s Got Talent) and Brett Michaels (Rock of Love). Going down the list, we get closer to obscurity. Without further ado, here are the other celebs found filming: Rod Blagojevich (disgraced governor), Curtis Stone (Australian celebrity chef), Bill Goldberg (wrestler), Summer Sanders (Olympic gold medal swimmer), Sinbad (comedian), Carol Leifer (writer/comedienne), Darryl Strawberry (baseball player), Cyndi Lauper (singer) and Maria Kanellis (wrestler).
Looking at this list, there doesn’t appear to be much motivation for us to watch. Sharon Osbourne is a smart cookie, and I wouldn’t be surprised to find her in the final two. She’s sure to provide the drama that Joan Rivers supplied us with last season, but will it be enough to carry the entire show?
Vampire Diaries is here to stay
It may be a poor man’s Twilight and a severely impoverished man’s True Blood, but since it’s about young vampires, The CW’s Vampire Diaries is a hit. Because of the strong ratings, the network has ordered a full season of episodes for the show. This is not a surprise, nor will it be a shock when the network renews the vampire drama in the spring for a second season.
What may be a surprise to some is the network’s ordering of five more Melrose Place episodes. While they’re not committing to an entire season, they are confirming their temporary dedication to the trashy reboot of the successful 90s show. Their decision has everything to do with Heather Locklear’s upcoming reprisal of her Amanda Woodward role in November. Since announcing Locklear’s return, the ratings have improved slightly. If the ratings don’t see a significant jump from her return, Melrose will be going to a better Place.
TV’s most complex and mysterious woman heats up the cover of GQ
Mad Men is the best show on television, and one of the reasons is January Jones’s portrayal of Betty Draper, one of the most interesting female characters ever to grace the TV screen. In the GQ interview and cover story, Jones talks about her motivation to relentlessly pursue her acting career. Turns out that it all started when the guy she was seeing told her the acting thing probably wasn’t for her.
“The guy I was dating when I first got to L.A. was not supportive of my acting,” she says. “He was like, I don’t think you’re going to be good at this. So—f*ck you! He only has nice things to say now—if anything, I should thank him. Because the minute you tell me I can’t do something, that’s when I’m most motivated.”
Know who this guy was who wasn’t supportive of her acting career? None other than Ashton Kutcher. Dude, where’s your taste?
Ashton is probably looking at the photoshoot and, like any other red-blooded man on the planet, is wishing he could be Don Draper.
A great actress, and one of the hottest women in Hollywood? Not bad, huh?
