Current weight: 149.6 lbs.
Starting weight: 151 lbs.
Loss to date: 1.4 lbs.
Goal weight: 115 lbs.
This is going to be surprising, but I’m not too worried about the fact my weight is on the higher end this week.
I kind of feel like I’m stuck in this box between 150 lbs. and 147 lbs. Hopefully I can break out of it. But it’s going to take harder work than I’ve been giving in the last while.
I’m sure it’s a culmination of things and it will go down in time. I’m finally getting the message–it’s a lifestyle change so it’s not going to go quickly and easily.
If you’ve been following my blog you would know lately I’ve been having problems with motivation. So far this week things have been going well.
Hit the gym on Monday, Wednesday and this morning and got exercise on Tuesday and Thursday through bike rides.
I’ve started going to the gym in the morning and it’s the best decision I could have made. I find that if I leave working out for the end of the day I’ve come up with a bunch of excuses and reasons why I shouldn’t end my day with a workout.
When you set your alarm, roll out of bed and go to the gym you don’t really have much opportunity to talk yourself out of it.
I’m really enjoying what I’m doing for weights right now too. My trainer, Amber Vrtar at the Kelowna YMCA-YWCA has me doing about half an hour of a range of different exercises that work many muscles. And there’s nothing better than feeling the aches in the next couple days and knowing it only means good things are happening to your muscles.
So, I’m getting back on track when it comes to exercise.
My major problem, again, is when it comes to food. I’m having trouble reigning myself in while following the Canada Food Guide. There’s too much freedom and if I don’t write down what I’ve eaten (something I haven’t done lately) things just add up and after a while you have no idea what you’ve eaten.
My food journal is back at the forefront. I carry it around with my planner so it’s hard to miss. I find it’s easier and easier to forget my favourite processed foods, like those 100-calorie packs. I don’t even think about them when I’m grocery shopping any more. Now it’s more concern about a wide variety of fruits, whole grain products and more fruit.
It’s awful, but I’m trying to cheat on my fruits and vegetables by consuming mainly fruit. I’m just not that interested in vegetables. Unless they’re deep fried in a tempura batter they just don’t appeal to me.
