JCI Okanagan press release/edited

JCI Okanagan a group of young professional women aged 19-40 that focus on social responsibility, entrepreneurship, leadership and fellowship.  They’re energetic, ambitious, generous and fun and they’re looking for like minded people.

On Wednesday September 23rd, JCI Okanagan will host a New Members Night from 5-7pm at the Rotary Centre for the Arts atrium (421 Cawston Ave.).  Anyone interested in meeting new people, developing their professional and leadership skills or making a difference in their community is invited to attend.

“Our new members night is a chance to showcase what being a Jaycee is all about,” says co-chair Corrine Omand.  “I joined JCI initially for the fellowship because I didn’t know many people in the community my age.  It has turned into so much more.  I have had the opportunity to help run major fundraising events, learn and practice public speaking, and have seen our efforts at work in the community.  JCI gives back in so many different ways.”

The JCI Okanagan New Members Night will feature presentations from existing and past Jaycees including motivational speaker Crystal Flaman, an effective speaking champion, successful entrepreneur and true leader.  Appetizers and beverages will be available throughout the evening and prizes will be awarded for JCI trivia questions.

For more information on this event, contact either Corrine Omand by phone at 490-5319 or by email at corrine91@hotmail.com.
