A rotted willow tree that blew over in this afternoon’s wind and rain storm has caused damage to two vehicles on Sutherland Ave. Kelowna Fire Department was called to the scene but there was little they could do once they determined no one was in the parked cars.
A small Ford pickup truck suffered the most damage. A small Honda car remains under the tree. The tree also appears to be leaning now onto the Shadyrest British Fish and Chips. The cars belonged to staff members working there. The exposed roots of the old willow showed extensive rot. No one was hurt. Winds reached an estimated 60 kms/hour.
