Freddy’s Brewpub is a great place to find an extensive menu with a wide range of choices. They also have their own microbrewery, which offers a number of unique beers.
Since it’s located right by the Grand 10 movie theatre Freddy’s has capitalized on that and offers several dinner and a movie meal options for those interested in making a night of it.
Freddy’s is open from 11 a.m.-midnight Sunday-Thursday and 11 a.m.-1 a.m. Friday and Saturday nights.

Rose's Waterfront Pub is a great spot to visit. (Photo Holly Miyasaki)
Rose’s Waterfront Pub is a mainstay in Kelowna. If you’re downtown, any time of day, you’ll find lots of people, great music and delicious food.
It’s got a great spot right by the lake. So, not only do you have a beautiful view of the water and mountains, but also for people watching and getting some sun on the patio.
Rose’s is open 11 a.m.-2 p.m. every day during the summer. Find it at 1352 Water St.

Beautiful surroundings and a big menu are what make The Pheasant and Quail the pub it is. The P&Q might be hard to find if you’re not looking for it. It’s off Lakeshore Drive across from the Mission Park strip mall.
You’ll know it’s the right building when you see the P&Q Liquor Store with green vines growing all over it. The Pheasant and Quail Pub is located at 3110 Lakeshore Rd. and is open Thursday-Saturday 11 a.m.-midnight and Sunday-Wednesday from 11 a.m.-11 p.m.

Visit the patio at Rusty's Steakhouse and Lounge for a nice summer afternoon. (Photo Holly Miyasaki)
Rusty’s seems like a restaurant, but has 18 plasma TVs broadcasting everything from Keno to baseball to horse racing, making at a true sports bar. It also has a pool hall with quite a few tables in the back for those who want to get a few games in with friends. The menu is expansive and reasonably priced, and like the name, there’s lots and lots of steak available.
What I liked about Rusty’s is the fact that it was a place you could meet friends and then hang out longer to watch the game or to play pool. It’s located at 1575 Dilworth Dr.

Sportsfans will be at home in Sturgeon Hall. It's also a great place to find Canadiana, a tasty menu and a pizza parlour upstairs. (Photo Holly Miyasaki)
But it’s more than burgers on the menu here. There are also three types of poutine, salads, starters, wraps and more.
And if you’re looking for even more stuff to eat there’s Bordello’s pizzeria upstairs where there’s a huge menu of Italian red (tomato sauce) and white (olive oil) pizzas. If you’re feeling adventurous you can create your own from a long list of different toppings. The catch is you have to sit upstairs to eat from Bordello’s menu.
Don’t forget there’s a nice patio on the street facing Water Street, so if you like to people watch it’s a great place to spend a summer evening. Sturgeon Hall is located at 1481 Water St.

There are lots of tables and a few TVs set up here and there for those hoping to catch some televised sporting events. Want to see some live action sports? There’s an ice rink right on the other side of the pub, where you can watch teams practicing and playing games.
Boomers Bar and Grill is located near the Capital News Centre complex at 4105 Gordon Dr. It’s open 11:30 a.m.-late daily. The kids menu is available until 8:30 p.m. every day.

Doc Willoughby's is found right in the heart of things on Bernard Avenue.
Doc Willoughby’s has a great menu with the usual appies and entrees you would see in a pub.
But they also have some items you might not see in other pubs like their baby stuffed yorkshire puddings and herb chicken sandwich. Their fries are unique in that they’re beer battered. Not something I particularly enjoy, but I can understand the appeal to others.
It’s a relatively large space. There’s lots of room to sit, whether it be inside or outside. And a number of TVs to watch sports.
Doc Willoughby’s is a good stop any time. Find it at 353 Bernard Ave. It’s also home to live entertainment quite often.
