Sorry guys, I don’t have any pictures to show you. Now take a deep breath. Heart rate returned to normal? Good, I can tell you what I mean.

ScriptShadow, a website devoted to reviewing the latest scripts in Hollywood (before they’re filmed), is reporting that drool-worthy Natlie Portman and Mila Kunis are set to star in director Darren Aronofsky’s next film, Black Swan. Black Swan is Aronofsky’s follow up to The Wrestler, which received a lot of Oscar attention last year.

Black Swan is apparently a psychological thriller about a ballerina competing against a rival dancer who may or may not be another version of herself. In the film, Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis have sex. You read that correctly. And to make things even more interesting, the script calls for the two to indulge in “ecstasy-induced hungry aggressive angry sex.”

Can this be true? Mila Kunis isn’t talking. In an interview with Collider.com over the weekend, Kunis is aware of the rumours but doesn’t know how the script was leaked. “I can’t really deny or confirm because I’m not aloud to talk about the script but all I’m going to say is that I can’t imagine anyone getting their hands on this project. Does that make sense?”

Kunis was also asked about the high level of secrecy regarding the project. “It’s a psychological thriller and so there is a lot of twists and turns, I guess you could say, and I think that Darren Aronofsky who’s directing it is a very…he just did the last rewrite on it and he’s very private about this one rewrite. So I don’t know how anyone could’ve ever gotten it. I have a copy but mine is so watermarked that you would know it came from me. Natalie has a copy and I’m guessing that there are, let’s say, two more out there.”

Regardless of the storyline, the high level of secrecy, or anything else for that matter regarding the film, men will be repeatedly telling themselves, “Must. See. Black. Swan.” The film begins shooting in November and should be in theatres sometime next year.

Worst live performance ever?

I’m starting to wonder if Heidi Montag truly takes herself seriously. If she does, she may just be the most delusional “celebrity” on the planet, even more so than Octomom. Some of the quotes this woman comes up with are so outrageous that you hope they’re all in the name of PR and don’t have anything to do with her true sense of self.

For instance, I recall reading that Montag considers herself a much more talented singer and performer than Lady GaGa. And just before her performance at the Miss Universe pageant last night, Heidi told the Associated Press, “I think people don’t know what to expect, and how can they? It’s my first performance live and it’s in front of a billion eyes. So I’m very excited to show everyone what I’m coming with.”

She came with… a nude coloured outfit, stiff choreography, and not a single note of live singing. The performance was worse than awful.

Check it out for yourself.

Janet Jackson writing a tell-all book?

According to In Touch Weekly, Janet Jackson is in the process of writing a tell-all book about the Jackson family as a way to assist her with the healing process of dealing with brother Michael’s death. Considering the source, we must take this with a grain of salt.

If it’s true, what are we to think? What better way to heal than to, oh I dunno, write a tell-all book? That’ll do the trick. Bound to do wonders for the grieving process. It’s all the rage with psychologists today… I think I even read a piece in Psychology Today that went something like: “Having trouble coping with the death of a loved one in the family? Write a book about them throwing them under the bus after they’ve passed away and are no longer around to defend themselves.”

KISS to rock Vancouver November 14th

35 years after their first big tour, rock band KISS is taking to the stage once more for another big tour. The closest we’ll get to KISS here in Kelowna is their Vancouver show at GM Place on November 14th.

Talking about the new tour, Gene Simmons says, “For 35 years, KISS raised the bar for what a rock concert should really be. This year is no different – all new, all killer… all KISS! The master’s class in rock is in session! KISS rules. Oh yeah!” Only Gene Simmons could get away with a quote like that. Without his makeup, Simmons is normally so full of crap (have you seen his Family Jewels show?) but I’m sure he’s not BSing here. They may be old, but they sure can still rock out.

Women help Inglourious Basterds reach big box office numbers

Hollywood movie mogul Harvey Weinstein is crediting women for helping his company’s film Inglourious Basterds achieve the $37.6 million attained at the box office this weekend. Research shows that 42% of those attending the year’s best film (read my review here) were women, and Weinstein isn’t overlooking this fact as a key to success. “Research showed that guys loved this movie but said women would not,” he told the LA Times this morning. “That was the Everest we had to climb.” To get women in the seats, The Weinstein Company took out ads in women’s magazines and female-oriented websites, as well as running ads on television shows including Battle of the Network Stars and Project Runway.

Oh, and I guess it didn’t hurt that Brad Pitt is in the film (though not as much as you’d think). Audiences that went in expecting to see Brad Pitt rampaging across Europe were not disappointed but were likely surprised by the lack of screen time for Pitt and his band of Nazi-killing Basterds. Instead, we were rewarded with a great story and interesting characters, despite being sold on something completely different by the film’s marketing.

And we can’t forget the Twitter effect. The studio invited top Twitterers like Sarah Silverman (261,000 followers) and Tony Hawk (1.4 million followers) to the premiere to help spread the word. And each time throughout the weekend I went on Twitter and looked up the film, almost everyone was tweeting his or her support. This is happening every weekend now where good films get a boost from Twitter and bad films sink faster than ever, although some films continue to be both Twitter and critic proof (GI Joe for example).

Saw ‘Inglourious’ yesterday – loved it!! In regards to the women there however – it was me and two others – out of about 50 in the theatre in total… and by the by, Eli Roth is waaaaaayyyyy better lookin’ then Brad (the terrible texan accent didn’t help matters much) – Eli needs to get his butt in front of the camera more often! However, he didn’t have many lines (which really, he didn’t need any) ;) Michael Fassbender as well had too little screen time as I found myself quite choked after the bar scene… All in all though, your basic Quentin movie with tons of interesting dialoge and a whole lotta violence!

Thanks for your comments, Kat. I’m surprised with 3 out of 50 showing of women at the theatre when you saw Basterds. I agree, Eli Roth needs to spend some more time in front of the camera. His role, which was pretty limited in screen time (like Brad’s), was supposedly more prominent in the version screened at Cannes but Tarantino cut some out. Will be interesting to see if Roth pursues more acting or if he goes back to directing.
