The last time I’d been to what is now Rusty’s Steakhouse and Sports Lounge, it was the Cue Club.
Needless to say, I was interested to see what became of a teenage hangout.
Rusty’s seems like a restaurant, but has 18 plasma TVs broadcasting everything from Keno to baseball to horse racing, making at a true sports bar.
It also has a pool hall with quite a few tables in the back for those who want to get a few games in with friends.
The menu is expansive and reasonably priced, and like the name, there’s lots and lots of steak available.
What I liked about Rusty’s is the fact that it was a place you could meet friends and then hang out longer to watch the game or to play pool.
When I was there, about 6:30 p.m. on a week night, I noticed the crowd seemed to be mainly baby boomers who are looking to catch the game while getting a bite.
There were booths bordering the dining area and I chose to sit at one of them. While it was positioned out of the way, I didn’t feel as though I was isolated from the other people in the pub.
The server was really nice and she was dressed in a very feminine faux referee uniform, which I thought was pretty cute.
Rusty’s is definitely an upgrade from the old Cue Club, and I’m really looking forward to going back.
