The Pheasant and Quail is quite the pub experience. I would almost classify it as a restaurant, but for the sake of fitting into this category, I’ll consider it a pub.
This was my first time to the pub and I was impressed by my surroundings. There were stained glass depictions of, you guessed it, pheasants and quails, taxidermic versions of those same birds and other unique decorations.
Brett Godin, the bar’s manager, says the atmosphere at The P&Q is not like your average pub, and is more upscale and fine dining.
If you’re looking for a fulfilling dining experience, this is the place to go. Menu items include stir fries, pastas, pizzas, salads, seafood, sandwiches and traditional pub fare. Also, they serve great desserts. A plus, as some pubs don’t include sweets on their menus.
The portions are huge so you’re really getting good bang for your buck and the servers are really friendly.
There’s a small patio on the side of the building, which feels really private due to hedges growing around it. But at the same time, you feel as though you’re in the thick of things as you can hear the traffic from the street cruise by at ear level.
The P&Q might be hard to find if you’re not looking for it. It’s off Lakeshore Drive across from the Mission Park strip mall.
You’ll know it’s the right building when you see the P&Q Liquor Store with green vines growing all over it.
The Pheasant and Quail Pub is located at 3110 Lakeshore Rd. and is open Thursday-Saturday 11 a.m.-midnight and Sunday-Wednesday from 11 a.m.-11 p.m.

The stuffed chicken in picture 4 loooks more like steak and prawns. Great work!
