Kelowna, BC – As families start moving back home on the Westside, it is a start for returning back to normalcy for many families affected by the West Kelowna fires. Relieve your stress and kick back in the park for a unique outdoor movie experience like no other.

On Thursday in Kelowna’s City Park, a giant inflatable movie screen will be set up for the Interior Savings Moonlight Movie. This true cinema under the stars experience will bring together families for a fun evening with a barbeque, kids activities, and a movie.

Families are invited to bring down their lawn chairs and picnic blankets to enjoy Monsters vs Aliens in the park; movie starts at dusk, approximately 9 p.m.

The movie was decided by the public with voting taking place online with the Boys and Girls Clubs website. Monsters vs Aliens is an animated movie not yet released to DVD, featuring the voices of Reese Witherspoon, Seth Rogan, and Keifer Sutherland. Don’t miss this last opportunity to catch it on the big screen.

“The large outdoor screen is truly impressive,” states event organizer, Jennifer Bryan. “The public will really enjoy this unique event in Park, and it’s summer…let the kids stay up late!”

Donations will be collected at the event in support of the Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs. The evening will feature a hot dog barbeque sponsored by Choices Markets, a concession, children’s activities, and great prizes to be won. Concession opens at 7 p.m. Families are encouraged to come down early to stake out their spot, have dinner, and enjoy the park, kid’s activities, and giant games set up by the Boys and Girls Clubs. This sounds like a really fantastic event, especially in light of the recent fires. Nothing like a good movie under the stars to bring the community together and have fun. I love outdoor movies, i go to them whenever i can! in fact, i found a whole listing of them here, check it out:
    see you there! :)
