Junior hockey fans will get a chance to see some high-calibre fun as the Kelowna Rockets host the 8th annual Alumni Hockey Game July 5 at the CNC rink. The event wraps up alumni weekend, which also featured present and former players taking part in the 9th annual golf tournament at the Harvest Club on Thursday.
Shea Weber, Luke Schenn and Blake Comeau were but three of many Rockets who turned out to swing their clubs in the scramble-format event.
Last year’s hockey game saw the likes of current and former Rockets Weber, Comeau, Vern Fiddler, Evan Bloodoff, Troy Bodie, Jason Deleurme, Tyler Mosienko and Brett Palin take part in the skate for charity and this year’s event again will feature many of the team, past and present.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12, and are available at the door on a limited basis. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. Sunday and the puck drops at 5:30 p.m.
