Kelowna RCMP have released video surveillance footage of a would-be bank robber who apparently got cold feet this morning at the downtown Bernard Street branch of Interior Savings Credit Union.
Police are now looking for a thin Caucasian man in his late-20s, about five-foot-seven. He was wearing baggy pants, a black T-shirt with flames on the front and a grey hoody over top. He had the hood pulled over his head.
Kelowna RCMP spokesman Const. Steve Holmes said the man passed a note to a teller demanding money to a teller, then took off on foot before the bank employee could react.
“He got nervous while he was waiting,” Holmes said.
A search, which included the use of the Air 3 helicopter, failed to turn up the suspect.
Police hope to release a picture and video of the man taken from the bank’s surveillance footage.
