- 6:30-8:30 p.m. — Fun in the Sun concert at Strathcona — As part of Parks Alive! 2009 Community Music Series. Held in parks around the city.
- 8 p.m. — Labess at The Minstrel Café — Rich, festive melodies and styles ranging from Spanish flamenco to those of the Arabic/Berber world. Tickets are $5 at the door or by calling 250-764-2301. The Minstrel Café is located at 4638 Lakeshore Rd.
WEDNESDAY, JULY 15
- 6-9 p.m. — A Night of Tributes at Island Stage — Parks Alive! 2009 Wednesday Night Showcase at Waterfront Park.
- 7 p.m. — Jon Rae Fletcher at The Habitat — With Bruce Peninsula and The Stables. Jon-Rae Fletcher is a Canadian singer-songwriter. He has recorded both as a solo artist and with a back-up band, The River. Bruce Peninsula have spent the last year travelling through churches and slums to make A Mountain Is A Mouth, their forthcoming debut LP. The Stables (a name derived many concepts) have been placed into numerous musical genres, and rightfully so; their sound encompasses all facets from folk to bluegrass to punk.
